First things first.

So what do you pack for this type of trip, it’s a tricky one. But then again, starting to pack at 15:30 the day before you fly probably wasn’t the best idea. Thankfully some Gill sailing gear had already been ordered and sportswear purchased – off to a winning start!
In Anna’s vintage Karrimor rucksack I packed:

  • Yorkshire tea bags – a must have on any trip
  • 1 red and blue wind proof fleece – it has been with me for years and has a lot of history, plus it’s a bloody good fleece.
  • 6 pairs of socks
  • 1 sports bra – M&S of course
  • 2 running tops – Nike, good fit.
  • 1 running shorts – Adidas funky ones.
  • 1 headband Buff – very old but a flexible item, snuggly. No one wants wind whistling through their ears!
Loving the Nike Dri-fit top and Adidas funk short
  • 1 Rab light weight waterproof
  • 1 Rab 1st addition puffa jacket – had for around 5 years and it really is the bee’s knees. Warm, lightweight and breathable.

Gill sailing gear – to be put through its paces…

      • RC003 waterproof trousers, size XS
      • 005W UV shorts graphite, size 10
      • 1351 thermogrid leggings, size S
      • 003W UV zip neck top ash, size 10
      • 001W UV crew neck T-shirt ash, size 10
      • 920W Baltimore 2 eye deck shoes, size 38
      • 758 trainer socks, size S
      • 139 sailing cap navy, one size
      • 9473 classic sunglasses
      • 9639 floatable retainer hi-vis
      • 7261 womens gloves, size M
Looking rather pleased with the Gill Waterproof Trousers
        • 1 pair of burkies (Birkenstock)- a must have, comfy comfy
        • 1 flip flop
        • 1 Salomon Speedcross trail running trainers – can be used for running and hiking, let’s see how they hold up.

              1. Very thorough list! Good work young Georgi. Although I can spot something that was missed, you’ll be sad to have pointed out. Something that is absolutely vital for any medium of travel. Also widely known to be wholly good for the soul…..
The Tune Blaster!! aka. le iPod.

……I suppose it was packed into your travel bag and not Anna’s vintage rucksack and thus didn’t make the list. But that only just dawned on me now.
                There There!
                Top post!

              2. Hello – lovely to see your essential list. Hope they let you onto the plane. Will be following your crossing. Take care. Love Irene & Ray XXX
